The Amphora Private Dining Room

Whether you envision a sophisticated sit-down dinner, a festive cocktail reception or a business luncheon utilizing state-of-the-art video capabilities, Viognier Restaurant is an ideal venue for all your banquet room needs. Our experienced team is dedicated to assist with every last detail of your event to assure hassle-free planning and a truly memorable experience. Our beautiful Amphora Private Dining Room comfortably accommodates from 6 to 45 seated guests. For larger groups, the restaurant may be available for a full buy-out and can accommodate up to 100 guests (please inquire for pricing).

We provide multiple menu options for your private events, each celebrating the seasonal bounty of Northern California. Chef Sean Fleming will gladly prepare custom menus for any occasion. We can also do a cooking demonstration for your group.

Available 7 days a week, the warmly appointed facility is the ideal setting for any of your business or personal needs. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the room with natural light, while floor-to-ceiling drapery creates the appropriate environment for audio-visual presentations. This room is completely separate from the restaurant, and is very private.

The Amphora Room is equipped with a large mounted projection screen, and will accommodate all of your other equipment needs, including WiFi Internet, an LCD projector, and audio. The room’s walls, painted in soothing pastel shades, are adorned with colorful watercolor lithographs depicting various stages of wine tasting by award-winning artist Karen Brussart Butler.

Our location in downtown San Mateo, and our proximity the the rest of the Bay Area and the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), makes us a convenient location for guests coming in from out of town.

Cooking Demonstration
We would be happy to do a cooking demonstration for you in the Cooking School. We can tailor the presentation for your group. This can be a short 20-minute presentation at $250. or a more in-depth presentation at a $500. demo fee.

Wine Tasting
These can be a great way to break up a long day, or to provide a fun diversion. This can be a short 20-minute presentation at $250. or a more in-depth presentation at a $500. demo fee.

Murder on the Menu
We can coordinate a customized, interactive theatrical presentation for your group. The spotlight of fun is on employees and friends as the actors bring out the corporate energy and unique creativity of your guests.

Team Building
We can coordinate a variety of team building activities for your group. All of the event s are customized for your group and will include theme of meeting/event, agenda, goals and objectives, jargon and specific guests. They’re all interactive because they’re about you!

Casino Night
Viognier would be pleased to organize a Las Vegas-style gaming event for your group. Using casino-style tables and experienced dealers to challenge expert gamers and assist novice players with helpful hints and game education.
