2008 Wine Dinner Series

May 23, 2008

Wines of New Zealand - Featuring Destiny Bay

destiny label Although New Zealand is best known for its Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir, Waiheke Island's climate is ideally suited to grow world-class Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and other Bordeaux varietals. Destiny Bay produces wines of incredible depth and character. With the very small production and extremely limited availablity of these boutique labels, this dinner will be a great opportunity to try these highly allocated - and soon to be "cult" status wines. Join us along with Mark Feldman of Destiny Bay for five courses paired with these stunning wines from the Southern hemisphere. - 5 courses - $125

Wines of Germany

kesselerGermany is probably best known for its wonderful Rieslings, but there are a few areas that have been making fabulous Pinot Noirs for hundreds of years. So few are made that they rarely find their way to the U.S. market. Here is a chance to try two of them, including one from one of the finest vineyards of the Rhein! Another overlooked treat is the sparkling wine - called Sekt. Fermented dry, it is a very nice alternative to higher-priced Champagne. We are very much looking forward to presenting a five course meal along with  some of these unknown treasures from Germany. - 5 courses - $125
